Elevate Your Guest Experience
Wellness experience strategy & implementation for boutique accommodations, spas & wellness spaces.
Become:
A destination they remember.
An experience they recommend.
A business that flourishes.
I help boutique accommodations, spas and wellness spaces uncover and shape their unique wellness experience, then design and implement it across every touchpoint of the entire guest experience.
By exploring your vision, ideas and the possibilities within your space, we develop a unique wellness experience that extends across the environment, sensory experience, guest journey, wellness offerings and operations. Creating a rejuvenating, evidence-based, nervous system-informed experience that enhances guest wellbeing, unlocks new revenue opportunities and sets your space apart in an increasingly competitive market.
The Story behind the Strategy
Boutique accommodations, spas and wellness studios often have the ideas, facilities and classes for a stronger wellness experience, but not always a clear path connecting them, or a story unique enough to stand out. Sea & Soul exists to help these spaces unlock their ‘soul’: the core transformation they offer guests, the story that makes them stand out, and the wellness experiences that bring both to life across the guest journey, environment, operations and culture. We also connect the space to the natural restorative environment already around it, the ‘sea’ and other blue spaces, creating opportunities for deeper restoration, signature experiences and partnerships with coastal operators.
I'm Jess Donaldson, a Wellness Tourism & Strategy Design Consultant specialising in integrating science-backed wellness, holistic health and nervous system regulation into tourism and hospitality spaces. My experience spans 10+ years of working therapeutically as a social worker (where I developed a deep psychological understanding of transformation, what genuine restoration requires and how far its effects reach), alongside hands-on wellness service design and programming, growth and strategy. Combined with travelling to every continent, experiencing wellness spaces across the world, and a WITT Accreditation, I understand both what makes a guest experience fully restorative and what it takes to build the business behind it.
People are looking for more than a getaway. They want places that leave them feeling restored, calmer and more energised. Creating that kind of experience takes more than adding a few wellness activities. It means thinking about how the space, experiences, guest journey, operations and people work together to support wellbeing.
That’s the approach behind Sea & Soul.
THE RIPPLE EFFECT
THE RIPPLE EFFECT
The Ripple Effect
The ripple starts with your vision. It moves through your guest. And it spreads further than you can see.
-
Before we look at anything else, we get clear on your vision and how you want your space positioned in the market. That decision changes everything downstream. Whether you want guests to feel relaxed, energised or clear-headed, and whether you want to be known as the quiet coastal escape or the destination people travel for - the offerings, the scents, the design of your space all need to be tailored to that feeling and that position.
Without that clarity, you might do everything at once and nothing done well. But when this is clear, every offer, every sensory choice, every part of the experience is built toward one transformation and one clear position in the market. Which ultimately makes your space unique and memorable. -
When your wellness programming is designed around the specific transformation your dream guest is seeking, it becomes the reason people choose you over every other option. Drawing on evidence-informed approaches and rooted in nervous system regulation, we design offers that are experientially compelling and physiologically grounded. This can include movement, mindfulness, breathwork, therapeutic experiences, signature packages and rituals, alongside identifying practitioners and partners who can support delivery.
Wellness is not only about what guests do, but also the environment they experience. We shape this together, from scent, sound and light to temperature, texture and materials, so the space itself supports the transformation being offered. We also explore how the property, its surroundings and local destination can become part of the experience through nature, culture and community. When the offering, environment and place work together around one clear transformation, the experience becomes distinctive, memorable and harder to replicate.
-
The guest experience begins the moment someone discovers the space, visits the website, lands on its social media or receives the first email. We shape every touchpoint of that journey, from discovery and booking through to departure and beyond.
Pre-arrival communication, preparation, arrival, movement, nutrition, rest, service and communication are all considered as part of one connected experience. This might mean creating simple activities or guidance before arrival, helping guests begin to shift out of the pace of everyday life before they even reach the space, or designing touchpoints that continue the experience after they leave.
When each part of the journey is designed with the same intention as the transformation being offered, guests begin to feel it before a single session starts. That consistency is what turns a stay into an experience people remember, return to and recommend.

Sustainable operations are about creating the structures that allow a wellness-led experience to be delivered consistently, while supporting your people, your business and the environment around it.
Through a wellbeing lens, we look at workflows, SOPs, systems, roles and responsibilities to identify friction and simplify the way the business operates. We consider what needs to be streamlined, clarified, delegated or outsourced, alongside how resources are used, environmental impact can be reduced, and operational decisions can better support the team and the experience being created for guests.
When operations are designed with wellbeing and sustainability in mind, the business can run more smoothly, support the people delivering the experience, reduce unnecessary environmental impact and protect the quality of the guest experience itself.
-
The experience created for guests is closely connected to the environment in which the team works. A space that promotes wellbeing externally needs to consider how wellbeing is experienced internally too.
We look at how the team understands and connects with the vision, how wellness principles are reflected in everyday ways of working, and whether communication, expectations and working relationships support a healthy environment. This also means looking at leadership and management practices, and how the conditions being created support the wellbeing, development and alignment of the team.
This includes equipping staff with greater understanding of guests, including nervous system regulation and neurodiversity, so that the experience is delivered with awareness, consistency and care.
When leadership, culture and the team are aligned with the vision and the experience being created, wellness becomes part of the way the space operates rather than something that only exists within the guest offering.
